8 Days Trek Kilimanjaro

8 Days Trek Kilimanjaro via Lemosho route is one of the newer routes on the mountain with minimum duration for the Lemosho route is 6 days, however we strongly recommend hiking the route in 7 days.8 Days Trek Kilimanjaro

Day 1: The Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport Tanzania.
This is arrival day to the land of Tanzania. After completing the registration from the Airport, you will meet us waiting outside. You will be transferred to Moshi or Arusha Hotel. This is where you will for an overnight prepare you for next morning trek. You will relax in the hotel prepared yourself mentally and physical for trekking Kilimanjaro. You may sometimes opt for town tour, to explore the surrounding areas by means of taxi or by foot. In the evening you will meet our guide for trekking briefing and other formalities that will ensure you the success to reach the summit.

Day 2: Safari from Hotel to Londorossi Gate, Hike to Forest Camp.
Today is the start of trekking tour. You will have strong breakfast at your hotel, later transfer by you driver on the way to the park main gate, (Londorossi gate). It is approximate 2 hours’ drive away from Moshi town. It will followed by registration from park Authorities. The driver will again takes you through the dense forest to about 15 kilometers from park gate and drop you there. This is the point where your treks will commence. With the help of park armed ranger, your treks will follow the narrow trail within this dense forest to about 3 hours walking time to reach the first camp (2,780 m). This is where you will spend the rest of the day before it get dark ready for an overnight.

Day 3: Kilimanjaro Trekking from Forest Camp to Shira Camp 1.
After breakfast, start hiking through the narrow path along with a dense forest on the way to shira one camp. It will take us about 4 to 5 hours hiking to reach the camp. Here you will have a stop for lunch and have a great view of mount Meru and the great east Africa rift valley. You will spend the rest of days until evening time. Dinner and overnight will be served.

Day 4: Kilimanjaro trekking from Shira camp 1 to shira Camp 2.
After finishing up your breakfast, we precede to shira camp 2 with different elevation of 400 m from shira 1 camp. This is also about 3 hours walking time. You will the camp in the evening and if the weather is clear you will be able to see the amazing view of Kibo peak at sunset. Spend your overnight here after having hot meal from our cooker.

Day 5: Kilimanjaro Trekking from Shira Camp 2 (3,900 m) to Barranco Camp (3,960 m).
Our trail today will take us to about 740 m elevation gain as compared to the previous camp. It will also provide much chance to acclimatize with the effect of Altitude sickness. This is important since it will make your body adapt to mountain sickness and hence ensure maximum success rate to the summit. So after breakfast our treks begin through steep ridge within shira plateau on the way to the lava tower (4,640 m). Due to altitude change of weather the vegetation pattern change and biome become as Alpine desert, the most common vegetation include Lobelia and Giant Senecio Plants. The total walking time will be around 6 to 7 hours to reach the camp (Barranco Camp). This is considered to be most beautiful camp due to its fantastic view of Kilimanjaro Mountain.

Day 6: Kilimanjaro Trekking from Barranco Camp (3,960 m) to Karanga Camp (4,035 m).
In the morning, you will be awakening for breakfast before start our treks. The trail between these two camps is almost characterized by undulating surface. This is due to many ascending and descending terrain. At first of our trek you will face the steepest part facing the Barranco Wall. It is a steepest part ever seen in the entire Route. It sometimes needs to use your hand since the trail has no trekking path, and this case you have to sensitive from the instruction provide by your guide. There after you have the magnificent view of Kibo peak before reaching the Karanga Camp.

Day 7: Kilimanjaro Trekking from Karanga Camp (4,035 m) to Barafu Camp (4,640 m).
This is the trail distance of 4 hours walking, so after breakfast you will walk along a trail that passes through an alpine desert area until you reach the destination of today – the Barafu Camp. This camp is situated at an altitude of 4,640 m. In the afternoon you can relax and stretch your legs in preparation of the upcoming summit night. You will have dinner early in order to catch a few hours’ sleep, before you will be woken up at around midnight.

Day 8: Kilimanjaro Trekking from Barafu Camp (4,640 m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), descend to Mweka Camp (3,080 m).
You will be awakening at the mid night with your head lump ready for summit attempt. After hot tea you will start walking onto the frozen ground on the way to Stella point. It is almost 5 to 7 walking hours. From Stella point you will have another 1 to 2 walking hours to reach the Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). This is the highest point in Africa; we call it the roof of Africa. You will spend some times congratulating each other, and have some fanny pictures. Later you will start descending on the way to Barafu camp. Here you will have strong hot Lunch, followed by little resting before descending to Mweka camp (3,080 m). Here you will have long resting and overnight spending.

Day 9: Descending from Mweka Camp (3,080 m) to Mweka Gate (1,630 m) to Moshi.
This will be your final day being on the mountain. After the breakfast, you will start descending through the dense forest on the way to Mweka gate. The humidity content in this elevation is high, so it found for surface to be moisture, muddy and slippery. So watch your step as you descend and use the trekking pole to maintain your balance. At Mweka gate you will receive your certificate for summit attempt, followed by celebration with your crew. It is time for tipping and other funny aspects. Later you will be picked by our driver to the hotel in Arusha or Moshi. There you will have hot shower and longtime relaxation. This will prepare your for next day safari destination. It will be either to wildlife safari Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire or flight to Zanzibar for beach tour or say bye bye Tanzania for flight back home. This will be the end of our Trekking Package.

Day 10: Transfer day to another safari destination or to Kilimanjaro Airport
In the morning after your breakfast you will be ready for another plan. Either goes for wildlife safari to northern Tanzania. It includes Serengeti famous for migration or flight to Zanzibar for beach relaxation. It can be also transfer to the Airport for flight back home. This will mark the end of your adventures travel to Tanzania.
