6 Days Hike Kilimanjaro via Rongai route use the scree summiting path from Kibo hut to Gilman’s point and descend via the Marangu route and hikers generally suffer more from altitude sickness on the Rongai route compared to other routes.
Day 1: The Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport Tanzania.
This is arrival day to the land of Tanzania. After completing the registration from the Airport, you will meet us waiting outside. You will be transferred to Moshi or Arusha Hotel. This is where you will for an overnight prepare you for next morning trek. You will relax in the hotel prepared yourself mentally and physical for trekking Kilimanjaro. You may sometimes opt for town tour, to explore the surrounding areas by means of taxi or by foot. In the evening you will meet our guide for trekking briefing and other formalities that will ensure you the success to reach the summit.
Day 2: Safari from Moshi to Nalemoru Gate (1,990 m), Treks to Simba Camp (2,625 m).
At your hotel the driver will pick you after breakfast and drive on the way to Nalemoru Gate, North-western side of Kilimanjaro Mountain. It is up to 4 driving hours. At the gate you will complete registration later our treks begin. The trail pass through the dense forest, and you will have opportunities to see some fauna species example primates, birds and amphibians. it will take us trekking time of about 4 hours to reach the Camp( Simba camp ). At the camp dinner will be served after resting followed by overnight.
Day 3: Kilimanjaro Trekking From Simba Camp (2,625 m) to Kikelewa Camp (3,630 m).
Our trail today takes us to heather and moorland area. It is in this zones where there is a great view of Mawenzi peak and Maasai plains of Kenya. Along your way, you will stop in one of transit cave (3,450 m) for having your lunch, later proceed to Kikelewa camp. The best camp where you can have amazing relaxation due to its view before overnight
Day 4: Kilimanjaro Trekking from Kikelewa Camp (3,630 m) to Mawenzi Tarn Hut (4,310 m).
In this part the vegetation pattern tend to disappear and the land become bare due to the effects of altitude change of weather. Depending on weather again you will be able to see the peak of Kibo and Mawenzi clearly. It includes the savannah landscape in the side of Kenya border. After few meters you will reach the Mawenzi hut. Is the best ever seen camp on the way to the summit of Kilimanjaro Mountain. You will spend an overnight in this hut.
Day 5: Kilimanjaro Trekking from Mawenzi Tarn Hut (4,310 m) to Kibo Hut (4,700 m)
The trail today takes as to through the great saddle plateau between Kibo and Mawenzi peak. The vegetation tends to disappear as we get higher due to extremely drought associated to coldness. Finally you will reach the final point to Kibo hut. You will stay in the hut preparing your physical and mentally for midnight summit attempt.
Day 6: Kilimanjaro Trekking from 6 Kibo Hut (4,700 m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), Descend to Horombo Hut (3,700 m).
In the midnight, you will take hot tea later start your trek on the way to the summit. The head lump will help you as the source of light. The trail is on the surface of glaciers on the way to Hans Meyer Cave at 5200 m to Gilman’s Point 5,715 m. from here it will take us approximate 2 hours to reach the Uhuru peak (The highest free standing peak in Africa.). You will there as sun rise morning. This is the best demanding time throughout the whole trekking. You will enjoy sun rise, and take some funny pictures and congratulating each other. After having your photos, you will start to descend to Kibo hut. Here you will have hot lunch and little rest before proceed to Horombo Hut. This is place where you can have your overnight.
Day 7: Descending from Horombo Hut (3,700 m) to Marangu Gate (1,860 m) to Moshi
In the morning you will have your last breakfast on the mountain, later start descending on the way to Marangu gate via Mandara hut (2,700). You will have hot lunch at Mandara hut; later continue descending down to Marangu gate. The trail will through the dense forest as it get to lower elevation similar to the first trekking day. Due to muddy and slippery surface we recommend to use your trekking pole to maintain your balance. In the gate you will receive your certificate and start celebration with your crew. It is the time for tipping. Later our driver will transfer direct to the hotel for hot shower and long relaxation. You will stay here for an overnight.
Day 8: Transfer day to another safari destination or to Kilimanjaro Airport.
In the morning after your breakfast you will be ready for another plan. Either goes for wildlife safari to northern Tanzania. It includes Serengeti famous for migration or flight to Zanzibar for beach relaxation. It can be also transfer to the Airport for flight back home. This will mark the end of your adventures travel to Tanzania.
